Land Use
I have chosen to assess land use as one of the topics I am interested in. Land use interests me because it is a way for me to establish my landscape photography skills and show how in the modern day we use the land around us. There are many ways that this can be explored, through housing, sport, transport and farming. Within these ideas I can show how land use has established throughout the years. As well as showing how it has established I can also show the different ways we use land, for example, we use land for roads and transportation but we also use land to build power stations that can be seen as a negative effect on the land. I can use this topic to show the negative effects of land use and the positive effects.
Sensory Photography
I have chose to look as sensory experience as a exam topic that interests me. There are many ways which senses can be used within photography, the focus of touch can lead us down the path of body parts and focusing on the texture of the object. Sound can also be explored by landscape photography, in an abandoned landscape we would assume there would be silence whereas within a busy landscape with lots of people we assume that it would be noisy with people talking. There are many routes I could go down within this topic but the main element that I would be interested in would be sound within landscapes and places because I am drawn to taking landscape images.
Overall, I want to continue with the land use exam title within my work because I have found a bigger interest within that topic than the sensory experience topic. Within land use I have more ideas to explore as I can travel around and take images of how we use the land in the modern day. As I said above I want to explore positive and negative ways we use the land in the modern day. There are various areas that use land for power stations which can be seen as negative but also the use of allotment sites which can be considered as positive.
